Mileseey GeneSonic Pro: The world’s first golf speaker with a detachable GPS handheld

Table of Contents
This week at the PGA Show, Mileseey showcased the latest addition to their ever-growing line-up of laser rangefinders and GPS devices: the GeneSonic Pro. Here is everything we know so far about this first-of-its-kind modular GPS speaker.

What is the Mileseey GeneSonic PRO?

The Mileseey GeneSonic Pro is a modular golf device that combines a high-quality Bluetooth speaker with an independent, detachable GPS handheld unit. Unlike many competitors that rely on a smartphone app for data, the GeneSonic Pro has a built-in GPS chip. This means there is no requirement to tether it to a phone or worry about a weak cellular signal on the course.

Key features

Let’s take a closer look at some of the GeneSonic Pro’s main features:

  • Detachable GPS Handheld: The beating heart of the device. This 3-inch full-colour touchscreen can be removed from the speaker base. It comes pre-loaded with 43,000+ golf courses worldwide and provides full visual hole layouts.
  • Precision Data: Provides yardages to the front, middle, and back of the green, plus distances to hazards and layup points. It also features green maps with movable pin locations for those looking for increased accuracy.
  • Voice Yardage: If you prefer not to look at a screen or are away from the cart, the speaker can announce distances aloud at the touch of a button.
  • Audio Performance: A powerful 40-watt dual-band speaker system with a dedicated tweeter and woofer. It includes three EQ modes: Golf, Home, and Party.
  • Quad-MagLock: Four high-strength magnets ensure the speaker stays firmly attached to the golf cart, even on the bumpiest of courses.
  • Subscription-Free: One of the biggest wins is that there are no monthly or annual fees to access the course maps or GPS data.

Who is the GeneSonic Pro best suited to?

In my opinion, the GeneSonic Pro will primarily appeal to social golfers and those who regularly use a golf cart.

The powerful magnet is a massive draw for cart users, especially since the speaker can read out distances while you’re driving to your ball. However, it’s also a clever choice for those who play in “cart-path only” conditions, as you can leave the music on the cart and take the lightweight handheld unit directly to your ball to get your yardage. Even for walkers, the speaker is a great idea for the driving range, allowing you to then use the GPS unit by itself when you head onto the golf course.

This is definitely one of the main devices showcased at the recent PGA Show in Orlando that I am excited to get my hands on to test and review. Whilst I may not be Mileseey’s target audience for this release, given I never use a golf cart and don’t normally listen to music when I play, I’d definitely use the speaker when practising, and I love the look of the removable GPS attachment. I’m also curious to learn more about its performance tracking via the Mileseey mobile app, as this is something I already have access to thanks to the automatic shot tracking on my Shot Scope V5 golf watch, so it will be interesting to see how this works and compares.

Let me know your thoughts on this one below and whether there are any specifics you’d like me to test out when I get my hands on this one. Stay tuned for my full review in the near future.

Can a customisable nameplate and lightning-fast firing justify a higher price tag? I put the Shot Scope PRO X to the test to see if it’s a must have rangefinder or if you’re better off sticking with its budget-friendly sibling, the PRO L2.
